I hope you’re all doing well at this tough time.
Let’s make sure we all follow the advice and care for those around us by distancing ourselves from others and stay at home. It is the only way that is proven to stop the spread of the virus. The sooner we do this the sooner we can get back to the court 🙂
I know the time at home can be boring. So I wanted to encourage you by providing some ideas for you all to do.
Firstly, as we know staying healthy is important but without equipment this can be tough. However, there are a few people giving online advice and creative sessions to keep us active.
On Instagram/Facebook have a look at –
PSA world tour
On YouTube –
The Body coach
Ideas to start the day –
Wim Hof (I downloaded the app and am completing the push up daily challenge).
Headspace app for meditation
Yoga for beginners, this is a great 10min starter to your day – https://youtu.be/Fi3o5ZYYWoE
Another idea is to watch some replays of matches. Either on YouTube or SquashTV.
I suggest –
Ramy v Shorbagy World Championship final –
Me 😊 v Nicol David –
Nick Matthew v James Willstrop Canary Wharf –
Raneem v Nour Tayeb –
There are loads of matches and videos on SquashTV and squash tips on squashskills so give them a watch.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the matches. What do they do well, what shots do they play best and how is their movement different to other players?
Feel free to reply to me over the next week at firstname.lastname@example.org or message me on social media – Instagram – @lauramassaro or twitter – @ljmassaro. I will then share on the Lancashire Junior Squash platforms so we can all get involved.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Take care of each other,
Laura and the Lancashire Junior Team.
